Sindy Lau
Sindy Lau is a cross-media artist. Her creative works include visual arts, picture book,
illustrations and murals. Some of her achievements include Winner of Best Illustration for
both Multi-media and Self-Initiation For Sale, the 2nd Greater China Illustration Awards
2011; First runner-up of Philippe Charriol Foundation Art Competition 1998; Selection in Ink
Global 2020 Awards; and Archive Special - 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide 2005. Her works
are collected by the Hong Kong Heritage Museum, Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office
in Washington, Philippe Charriol Foundation, local and overseas collectors.
In her watercolour illustration series, 'Ordinary People in a Big City’, Sindy integrates her
care and imagination into the community, peoples and animals; she also adopts an Indian
star tortoise Ah-Sing and a street cat Gulu, in the series.
